Guidance For Mom and Dad

Just because children are young doesn’t mean they can eat whatever they want. It’s critical that kids are given a healthy start in life by getting sufficient physical exercise to maintain a healthy body weight and eating a diet that provides the essential nutrients their bodies need for healthy growth and development. Parents have a responsibility to provide healthy foods and children can then decide how much to eat at any meal or snack. In other words, parents provide the food, children eat it. That division of responsibility works well and prevents battles over food choices at meal time. Learn more about making heart-healthy meals to help children adopt a nutritious diet includes lots of fruits and vegetables and that limits saturated fat and cholesterol.
