Ingredients
2 lbs. lean ground beef
2 cloves garlic, minced
½ green pepper, seeded and chopped
3 Tbsp. brown sugar
2 Tbsp. cider vinegar
Whole wheat hamburger buns
1 medium onion, chopped
1 can low sodium tomato sauce
3 Tbsp. low sodium Worcestershire sauce
2 Tbsp. prepared mustard
1 ½ tsp. chili powder
Directions
- In a heavy skillet, brown ground beef with onion and garlic.
- Drain off excess fat.
- Combine tomato sauce, green pepper, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard, vinegar and chili powder in slow cooker.
- Stir in ground beef mixture.
- Cover and cook on low setting or 5 to 7 hours.
- Serve spooned over hamburger buns, with a side salad.
