Crockpot Sloppy Joes

Ingredients

2 lbs. lean ground beef
2 cloves garlic, minced
½ green pepper, seeded and chopped
3 Tbsp. brown sugar
2 Tbsp. cider vinegar
Whole wheat hamburger buns
1 medium onion, chopped
1 can low sodium tomato sauce
3 Tbsp. low sodium Worcestershire sauce
2 Tbsp. prepared mustard
1 ½ tsp. chili powder

Directions

  1. In a heavy skillet, brown ground beef with onion and garlic.
  2. Drain off excess fat.
  3. Combine tomato sauce, green pepper, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard, vinegar and chili powder in slow cooker.
  4. Stir in ground beef mixture.  
  5. Cover and cook on low setting or 5 to 7 hours.
  6. Serve spooned over hamburger buns, with a side salad.
